The continent formally known as "Morvath" received an update as the world building, background, and history continues to develop for the SHADOWLORD project.

UNITED KINGDOM OF THE SHROUDED SUN

1,575 years ago, the land was not a kingdom, but a bleeding wound.

It was a fractured realm of warring tribes and bitter clans, bound together only by generations of bloodshed and inherited hatred. No banner flew over all, no law held true beyond the reach of a warlord’s blade. For centuries, the people knew only fire, steel, and the certainty that tomorrow would bring more of the same.

Then came Thalen Vathens.

He was not merely a conqueror, nor simply a king. He was a unifier of the impossible, a man who understood that steel could win battles, but only fear and wonder could end them. Where others gathered armies, Thalen gathered minds.

From every corner of the broken land, he summoned the most powerful wizards ever known, from reclusive scholars, hermits of the arcane, and masters of forgotten disciplines. Together, under his command, they wove a spell so vast and unnatural that it defied the rhythm of the heavens themselves.

They bound the sun.

At the height of the final civil war, when armies clashed in numbers unseen before the sky darkened. Without warning, the sun was devoured. Day turned to twilight. Twilight to shadow. Across the battlefield, warriors lowered their weapons, their fury swallowed by something far older than war: AWE and ALLURE.

Some fell to their knees, believing the end of the world had come. Others wept, calling it divine judgment. A few, very few, understood what it truly was... Power.

The eclipse lasted long enough for silence to take root where rage had lived for generations. And in that silence, the wars ended. From that moment forward, the land was no longer divided. It became the United Kingdom of the Shrouded Sun, and in that very spot ascended a new capital, Vathens. Named after the man who had remade the world beneath a darkened sky.

But the spell did not fade. Each year, on the final day of the calendar, the sun bows once more. Like clockwork, the heavens dim, and the great eclipse returns, unchanged, unwavering, eternal. A reminder not only of unity, but of the power that forged it. In time the King became a saint, worship by the entire realm. Eventually the city of Vathens took on a new name, becoming Saint Vathens, a lasting testament to Thalen’s legacy.

In the days leading up to the annual eclipse, the kingdom erupts into celebration. A week-long festival floods the streets with music, dancing, firelight, and reverence. It is a time when the kingdom remembers what it once was, and what it chose to become.

On the final day of each year, all eyes turn skyward. The light dies. The year ends in darkness. And when the sun returns, so too does the promise of a new beginning.
